COME ALONG TO THE GRAND FISHING COMPETITION, PART OF THE VILLAGE FESTIVAL OF LA CROISILLE, AT THE LAKE AT NOUAILHAS!

Fishing friends,

Come along and join in the competition of individual fishing, on Sunday 13 August, organised by the approved association for fishing and protection of the aquatic environment (AAPPMA) of St Germain-les-Belles and the Mairie of La Croisille-sur-Briance. There are numerous prizes.

PARTICIPER AU GRAND CONCOURS DE BOULES DE LA CROISILLE

Dans le cadre de la grande fête patronale et foraine de La Croisille sur Briance l’aappma de St Germain les belles en partenariat avec la mairie de La Croisille vous êtes invité à participer au grand concours de pétanque de la fête patronale de La Croisille, doté cette année de très nombreux lots..

Rendez-vous à toutes et à tous le samedi 12 aout à 13h30 sur le boulodrome de La Croisille au plan d’eau municipal de Nouailhas pour les inscriptions, participation de 2 euros par joueur.

1er PRIX offert par la mairie de La Croisille : 2 colis de la ferme du Crauloup et 50% des mises.

2éme PRIX offert par le snack bar Dubois : 2 repas moules frites et 30 % des mises.

DROUGHT WARNING

The Prefect of the Haute-Vienne has placed the department in a state of drought alert. The lack of rainfall since the beginning of July has been significant and therefore reinforced the shortage of water, both in the rivers and the underground reserves. In the same manner, the drying out of the ground has progressed substantially over recent weeks.

 

As of today, 28 July, restrictions on the use of water will be coming into force. For example: restrictions on times for watering (green spaces, flower beds, vegetable plots, sports grounds, golf courses, agricultural sprinkler irrigation etc…), restrictions on washing vehicles or parts of buildings, the filling of private swimming pools, public fountains etc…

 

WORK MEETING OF 24 JULY: REPLACEMENT OF WATER PIPES LA COTE/RTE MONT GARGAN

The works along La Cote will stop from 28 July until 22 August. When the work starts again, the work on Route du Mont Gargan will start.

 

NEW RULES REGARDING OPEN-AIR FIRES AND GREEN WASTE IN THE HAUTE-VIENNE

Prefect’s Decree of 28 June 2023

Article 10 :

The practice of burning standing vegetation, or ‘slash and burn’ (écobuage), is permanently prohibited across the whole of the department.

However, a request for exemption can be made to the DDT, at least 20 days before the planned intervention, by justifying it and stating the location, linear and/or surface area concerned and the security procedures that will be in place. When looking at the request, the DDT will consult the OFB for its opinion on the effect on wildlife and habitat of protected species.

This exemption can only be requested for interventions outside the period of 15 March to 15 October, which remains a period of strict prohibition – bearing in mind biodiversity issues. Burning is forbidden when the risk of forest fire is classed at a level of ‘severe’ or above (see article 9) and rests subject to the dispositions of articles 5, 12 and 13 of the present decree. The absence of a response after 20 days means that authorisation is refused.

Servez-vous des sacs à crottes

NOUS VOUS OFFRONS LES SACS, SERVEZ-VOUS-EN !
Vous l’avez constaté comme nous : de nombreuses crottes de chiens sont laissées à l’abandon dans le village, sur la place du centre-bourg, celle de l’église au stade municipal ou bien encore autour du plan d’eau de Nouailhas.
Aussi pour faire face à ce problème d’hygiène, d’environnement et de bien-être visuel et olfactif, la commune de la Croisille-sur-Briance met depuis plusieurs années, gracieusement à la disposition des propriétaires canins des distributeurs de sacs prévus à cet effet.
Le respect de la propreté des lieux publics est un élément essentiel dans une commune comme la nôtre. C’est pourquoi nous souhaitons rappeler à tous les propriétaires ou possesseurs de chiens qu’ils sont tenus de procéder immédiatement au ramassage des déjections canines de leur animal sur le domaine public communal.
Nous vous rappelons que pour encourager les propriétaires de chiens à ramasser, la commune a équipé les endroits stratégiques de poubelles avec distributeurs de « sac à crottes » qui permettent aux maîtres distraits de s’acquitter de leur devoir.
D’avance merci de respecter cette règle d’hygiène La Croisille étant une des rares communes du secteur à vous offrir ce service.

La fête foraine est de retour (En Français et en Anglais)

LA FÊTE FORAINE EST DE RETOUR LE 12 AOÛT VENEZ PROFITER DES MANÈGES ET DES POMMES D’AMOUR….(En Français et ensuite en Anglais). 

C’est désormais un rituel ancré dans la vie communale de retrouver la fête foraine qui est liée à la fête patronale de La Croisille-sur-Briance.

Installée cette année le weekend du samedi 12 et dimanche 13 août au stade municipal, auparavant cette fête se trouvait sur la place du centre-bourg.

Pour les petits comme pour les grands, la fête foraine est un moment de joie à ne rater sous aucun prétexte pour profiter en famille et entre amis de ces bons moments.

La fête foraine attend petits et grands. Une dizaine d’attractions sont proposées pour se divertir dont les traditionnelles auto-tamponneuses, un manège pour les adultes et pour les plus jeunes.

D’autres à sensations pour ceux dont le cœur est bien accroché dont le célèbre manège Surf qui fera son retour à la Croisille, le préféré des ados.

Et les manèges destinés aux enfants avec toujours le pompon du Mickey que toutes les générations ont tenté de décrocher.

Sans oublier les loteries pour repartir avec un petit ours en peluche ou un autre cadeau.

Et en ce weekend de concours de pêche au plan d’eau communal, tout près du stade, il sera possible de pêcher, mais pas des poissons mais tout simplement les petits canards jaunes bien connus également.

La fête de La Croisille c’est aussi de la guimauve, des crêpes, des gaufres, des pommes d’amour et de la barbe à papa qui produisent un parfum unique à la fête chaque année.

 

THE FUNFAIR IS BACK AGAIN ON 12 AUGUST. COME ALONG AND ENJOY THE FAIRGROUND RIDES AND STANDS – AND THE TOFFEE APPLES…

 

It is now a well-established ritual of village life to discover the funfair that is part of the village festival (fete patronale) of La Croisille-sur-Briance.

This year it will take place on the weekend of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August at the village sports ground – formerly it was found in the village square.

For young and old alike, the funfair is a not-to-be-missed moment – to be enjoyed with family and friends.

The fairground is waiting for you – both young and old. About a dozen different attractions will be there for your entertainment – the traditional dodgems, a fairground ride for adults, and for youngsters.

There are other more sensational rides for the braver amongst you, one of which is the well-known Surf ride, a teenagers’ favourite, which will be making its return to La Croisille.

And there are rides for children, with the Mickey Mouse that all generations have tried to win.

Not forgetting the sideshows where you can try to win a cuddly toy or other gift.

And, on the weekend of the fishing competition at the village lake, not far from the sports ground, you will be able to go fishing for those well-known little yellow ducks, rather than actual fish.

La Croisille’s fete also means marshmallows, crepes, waffles, toffee apples, and candy floss, all of which add a unique flavour to the festival every year.

 

 

 

Toxic Frogs in saturday’s opening concert

EN ANGLAIS MAINTENANT

THE TOXIC FROGS IN SATURDAY’S OPENING CONCERT AT LA CROISILLE SUR BRIANCE’S FETE PATRONALE

The Toxic Frogs will be performing the opening concert of La Croisille’s Fete Patronale, at the village sports ground on Saturday 12 August at 9pm. This will be the return to the commune of the all-female Celtic punk rock group, with their festive and explosive style, igniting the crowds wherever they go, while raising awareness of current social issues.

It’s a safe bet that, as in 2022, The Toxic Frogs will be giving their all on stage, finishing their concert to the applause of a delighted audience fully committed to their cause.

An excellent concert, which got La Croisille moving and motivated a crowd that was a little slow to get going until then.

Their recipe on the stage is punchy, with humour, energy and rhythm, and with a good dose of Irish music thrown in for good measure. It is Celtic punk rock performed by five young women with vocals, fiddles, electric banjo, guitar, bass, drums…

Being five women brings a different aspect to the stage than masculine groups – people aren’t used to seeing all-female rock bands. There are not many of them in France, or indeed elsewhere in the world.

It is still a very masculine domain. The Toxic Frogs have an element of ‘Girl Power’ to them.

Musically, their influences are punk, and rock, some salsa, and even more Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, Pixies.

And, of course, with their own style, the Mahones, the Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly are all direct influences of the Toxic Frogs, but the latter isn’t limited to pure Irish punk all the time, one can hear all their difference musical influences during the concert in La Croisille.

Cut out for the stage, the girls perform their increasingly socially engaged music, with raging, catchy riffs – proving that it is possible to be feminine, sexy and blast out a big sound all at the same time. The band has successfully performed on more than 200 French and European stages since 2015…

One piece of advice: get some earplugs! – just in case you’re up at the front of the stage! Wherever you are, be prepared for some lively action!

Above all, expect a great moment in the La Croisille 2023 festival, as the Toxic Frogs fill you with good humour and positive energy.
