SAMEDI 29 MARS UN CONFÉRENCE D’HERVÉ COVES « L’HUMANITÉ REMPART CONTRE L’ARIDITÉ »
Face au dérèglement climatique, nous ne sommes pas impuissants c’est ce que nous dira Hervé Covès lors d’une conférence le samedi 29 mars à 17h salle des fêtes de La Croisille-sur-Briance organisée par L’association « Qu’est-ce qu’on attend ? »
Qui est-il ?
Ingénieur agronome, Hervé Covès accompagne aujourd’hui ceux qui veulent se former à l’agroécologie et à la permaculture. Son parcours professionnel et spirituel est celui d’un contemplatif. En 2014, à un peu plus de 50 ans il est devenu religieux franciscain, membre de l’ordre fondé par saint François d’Assise, patron de l’écologie.
À la fin des années 70, il a commencé à travailler pour la Chambre d’agriculture de la Corrèze. A ce moment-là, « l’idée c’était vraiment de nourrir le monde ». Et on en est venu à utiliser de la farine animale pour nourrir les troupeaux. » Nourrir le monde à n’importe quel prix : plus tard on l’a payé cher.
Je me suis dit ‘Hervé tu es en train de tuer des gens’. Dans ce système où les agriculteurs « ne vivent plus de leur métier », on « ne donne plus une vraie valeur aux choses ». Le drame pour un agriculteur c’est que le prix de son effort est décidé arbitrairement depuis Bruxelles.
« La campagne m’a révélé quelque chose de la beauté du monde. »
Mais sa conversion, il l’a vécue des années après, au cours d’un voyage d’étude en Guyane.

FILM « UNE ILE UNE NUIT MARDI 1er AVRIL A LA PELLE JAUNE
à 20h30 Ciné fiction : « Une île et une nuit », un film des pirates des Lentillères (Dijon), 2021-2023, tournage 16mm, projection numérique,1h40. Suivi d’un échange avec les membres du collectif. Prix libre (pas de repas) Autour du feu, voyageurs et pirates se racontent leurs souvenirs, leurs rêves, leurs batailles. D’une langue à l’autre, de récit en récit se font entendre le grondement de la tempête et le bruissement des feuilles, les sirènes menaçantes et les danses endiablées, le choc des sabres et le chant des oiseaux. Jusqu’à l’aube se dessinent mille et un chemins de cette île imaginaire mais pourtant bien réelle.

BE PART OF THE PROJECT AT THE CHAMP DE FOIRE ON 9 APRIL
As part of the project to create a communal garden, we are inviting you along to the site at the Champ de Foire for the first planting of fruit trees on Wednesday 9 April at 10am – meet in front of the cemetery – with gardening gloves and suitable footwear.
SATURDAY 29 MARCH – A CONFERENCE FROM HERVE COVES, “HUMANITY DEFENDS ITSELF AGAINST ARIDITY”
Faced with the changing climate, we are not powerless – this is what Hervé Coves is telling us during a conference on Saturday 29 March at 5pm in La Croisille’s village hall. This is organised by the association “Qu’est-ce qu’on attend?”
Who is he?
An agricultural engineer, Hervé Coves today works with those who want to learn about agro-ecology and permaculture. His professional and spiritual path is that of a contemplative. En 2014, at just over 50 years old, he became a Franciscan, member of an order founded by Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology.
At the end of the seventies, he started to work for the Chamber of Agriculture in the Correze. At that time, “the idea was really to feed the world.” And he came to use animal meal to feed the herds. “To feed the world at any price”: later paying dearly for it.
I said to myself “Hervé, you are killing people.” In this system where farmers “no longer make a living from their work”, one “no longer puts a true value on things.” The tragedy, for a farmer, is that the price of his efforts is arbitrarily decided by Brussels.
“The countryside has revealed something of the beauty of the world to me.”
But his conversion came years later, during a study trip to French Guiana.

FILM “ONE ISLE AND ONE NIGHT” ON TUESDAY 1st APRIL AT THE PELLE JAUNE
At 8.30pm, a fiction film “One isle and one night”, a film from the pirates of the Lentilleres (Dijon), 2021-2023, shot in 16mm, digital projection, 1h40m. Followed by a discussion with the members of the collective. Entry by donation (no meal). Around the fire, travellers and pirates recount their memories, their dreams, their battles. From one language to another, from one tale to another, you can hear the roar of the storm and the rustling of the leaves, the menacing mermaids and the frenzied dances, the clash of sabres and the singing of the birds. Until dawn, a thousand and one paths take shape on this imaginary, but very real, island.
